การใช้เงินเพื่อแก้หน้าต้องทำให้เป็นหลักฐานด้วยใบรับเขียนลงในตั๋วแลกเงิน ระบุความว่าได้ใช้เงินเพื่อบุคคลผู้ใด ถ้ามิได้ระบุตัวไว้ดังนั้น ท่านให้ถือว่าการใช้เงินนั้นได้ทำไปเพื่อผู้สั่งจ่ายตั๋วแลกเงินกับทั้งคำคัดค้านหากว่าได้ทำคัดค้าน ต้องส่งให้แก่บุคคลผู้ใช้เงินเพื่อแก้หน้า

English translation
Payment by intervention must be evidenced by a receipt written on the bill of exchange, stating on whose behalf payment was made. If no person is named, the payment is deemed made on behalf of the drawer. The bill, together with the protest if one has been made, must be delivered to the person paying by intervention.
