คู่สัญญาทุกฝ่ายซึ่งต้องรับผิดและถูกไล่เบี้ย หรืออยู่ในฐานะจะถูกไล่เบี้ยได้นั้น อาจจะใช้เงินแล้วเรียกให้เขาสละตั๋วเงินให้แก่ตนได้ รวมทั้งคำคัดค้านและบัญชีรับเงินด้วย ผู้สลักหลังทุกคนซึ่งเข้าถือเอาและใช้เงินตามตั๋วแลกเงินแล้ว จะขีดฆ่าคำสลักหลังของตนเองและของเหล่าผู้สลักหลังภายหลังตนนั้นเสียก็ได้

English translation
Every party liable who is called upon, or is liable to be called upon, in recourse may, on paying, require the bill to be given up to him, together with the protest and a receipted account. Every endorser who has taken up and paid a bill of exchange may cancel his own endorsement and those of subsequent endorsers.
