ถ้าผู้รับรองตั๋วเงินซึ่งออกเป็นสำรับใช้เงินไปโดยมิได้เรียกให้ส่งมอบคู่ฉีกฉบับซึ่งมีคำรับรองของตนนั้นให้แก่ตนและในเวลาตั๋วเงินถึงกำหนด คู่ฉีกฉบับนั้นไปตกอยู่ในมือผู้ทรงโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายคนใดคนหนึ่งไซร้ ท่านว่าผู้รับรองจะต้องรับผิดต่อผู้ทรงคู่ฉีกฉบับนั้น

English translation
Where the acceptor of a bill drawn in a set pays without requiring delivery of the part bearing his acceptance, and at maturity that part is in the hands of a lawful holder, the acceptor is liable to that holder.
