Quiconque trouve un objet perdu est tenu : (1) de le restituer à la personne qui l’a perdu, à son propriétaire ou à toute autre personne habilitée à le recevoir ; (2) d’en informer sans délai la personne qui l’a perdu, son propriétaire ou toute autre personne habilitée à le recevoir ; ou (3) de le remettre dans un délai de trois jours à la police ou à toute autre autorité compétente et de l’informer de toutes les circonstances connues qui pourraient être pertinentes pour la personne habilitée à le recevoir. Toutefois, la procédure prévue au paragraphe 3 doit être suivie si la personne qui l’a perdu, son propriétaire ou toute autre personne habilitée à recevoir l’objet est inconnue ou refuse de le récupérer. Dans tous les cas, l’objet trouvé doit être conservé avec soin jusqu’à sa remise.
