เมื่อใดความที่สลักหลังมีข้อกำหนดว่า “ราคาอยู่ที่เรียกเก็บ” ก็ดี “เพื่อเรียกเก็บ” ก็ดี “ในฐานจัดการแทน” ก็ดี หรือความสำนวนอื่นใดอันเป็นปริยายว่าตัวแทนไซร้ ท่านว่าผู้ทรงตั๋วแลกเงินจะใช้สิทธิทั้งปวงอันเกิดแต่ตั๋วนั้นก็ย่อมได้ทั้งสิ้น แต่ว่าจะสลักหลังได้เพียงในฐานเป็นตัวแทนในกรณีเช่นนี้ คู่สัญญาทั้งหลายซึ่งต้องรับผิดอาจจะต่อสู้ผู้ทรงได้แต่เพียงด้วยข้อต่อสู้อันจะพึงใช้ได้ต่อผู้สลักหลังเท่านั้น

English translation
Where an endorsement contains the words "value in collection", "for collection", "by procuration", or any other expression implying agency, the holder of the bill of exchange may exercise all the rights arising out of it, but may endorse it only in the capacity of an agent. In such case the parties liable may set up against the holder only such defences as would be available against the endorser.
