อันตั๋วแลกเงินนั้นจะนำไปยื่นแก่ผู้จ่าย ณ ที่อยู่ของผู้จ่าย เพื่อให้รับรองเมื่อไร ๆ ก็ได้ จนกว่าจะถึงเวลากำหนดใช้เงิน และผู้ทรงจะเป็นผู้ยื่นหรือเพียงแต่ผู้ที่ได้ตั๋วนั้นไว้ในครอบครองจะเป็นผู้นำไปยื่นก็ได้ในตั๋วแลกเงินนั้น ผู้สั่งจ่ายจะลงข้อกำหนดไว้ว่าให้นำยื่นเพื่อรับรอง โดยกำหนดเวลาจำกัดไว้ให้ยื่น หรือไม่กำหนดเวลาก็ได้ผู้สั่งจ่ายจะห้ามการนำตั๋วแลกเงินยื่นเพื่อรับรองก็ได้ เว้นแต่ในกรณีที่เป็นตั๋วเงินอันได้ออกสั่งให้ใช้เงินเฉพาะ ณ สถานที่อื่นใดอันมิใช่ภูมิลำเนาของผู้จ่าย หรือได้ออกสั่งให้ใช้เงินในเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งนับแต่ได้เห็นอนึ่ง ผู้สั่งจ่ายจะลงข้อกำหนดไว้ว่ายังมิให้นำตั๋วยื่นเพื่อให้รับรองก่อนถึงกำหนดวันใดวันหนึ่งก็ได้ผู้สลักหลังทุกคนจะลงข้อกำหนดไว้ว่า ให้นำตั๋วเงินยื่นเพื่อรับรอง โดยกำหนดเวลาจำกัดไว้ให้ยื่น หรือไม่กำหนดเวลาก็ได้ เว้นแต่ผู้สั่งจ่ายจะได้ห้ามการรับรอง

English translation
A bill of exchange may be presented to the drawee at his address for acceptance at any time before maturity, and may be presented by the holder or by any person merely in possession of it. The drawer may insert in the bill a stipulation that it must be presented for acceptance, with or without a time limit. The drawer may prohibit presentment for acceptance, except where the bill is payable at a place other than the domicile of the drawee, or is payable at a fixed period after sight. The drawer may also stipulate that the bill may not be presented for acceptance before a specified day. Every endorser may stipulate that the bill must be presented for acceptance, with or without a time limit, unless the drawer has prohibited acceptance.
