ตั๋วแลกเงินจะมีผู้ค้ำประกันรับประกันการใช้เงินทั้งจำนวนหรือแต่บางส่วนก็ได้ ซึ่งท่านเรียกว่า “อาวัล”อันอาวัลนั้นบุคคลภายนอกคนใดคนหนึ่งจะเป็นผู้รับ หรือแม้คู่สัญญาแห่งตั๋วเงินนั้นฝ่ายใดฝ่ายหนึ่งจะเป็นผู้รับก็ได้

English translation
Payment of a bill of exchange may be guaranteed, in whole or in part, by a person called an avaliseur, and this guarantee is called an aval. An aval may be given by a third person or by any party to the bill.
