ผู้ทรงจะเรียกร้องเอาเงินใช้จากบุคคลซึ่งตนใช้สิทธิไล่เบี้ยนั้นก็ได้ คือ (๑) จำนวนเงินในตั๋วแลกเงินซึ่งเขาไม่รับรองหรือไม่ใช้กับทั้งดอกเบี้ยด้วย หากว่ามีข้อกำหนดไว้ว่าให้คิดดอกเบี้ย (๒) ดอกเบี้ยอัตราร้อยละห้าต่อปีนับแต่วันถึงกำหนด (๓) ค่าใช้จ่ายในการคัดค้าน และในการส่งคำบอกกล่าวของผู้ทรงไปยังผู้สลักหลังถัดจากตนขึ้นไปและผู้สั่งจ่าย กับทั้งค่าใช้จ่ายอื่น ๆ (๔) ค่าชักส่วนลดซึ่งถ้าไม่มีข้อตกลงกันไว้ ท่านให้คิดร้อยละ ๑/๖ ในต้นเงินอันจะพึงใช้ตามตั๋วเงิน และไม่ว่ากรณีจะเป็นอย่างไร ท่านมิให้คิดสูงกว่าอัตรานี้ ถ้าใช้สิทธิไล่เบี้ยก่อนถึงกำหนด ท่านให้หักลดจำนวนเงินในตั๋วเงินลงให้ร้อยละห้า

English translation
The holder may recover from the person against whom he exercises his right of recourse: (1) the amount of the bill of exchange which has not been accepted or paid, together with interest if interest has been stipulated; (2) interest at the rate of five per cent per year from the date of maturity; (3) the expenses of the protest and of the notices given by the holder to his immediate endorser and to the drawer, together with other expenses; (4) a commission which, in the absence of agreement, is one-sixth per cent of the principal sum of the bill, and which may in no case exceed that rate. Where recourse is exercised before maturity, the amount of the bill is subject to a discount of five per cent.
