เมื่อมีการหมั้นแล้ว ถ้าฝ่ายใดผิดสัญญาหมั้น อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งมีสิทธิเรียกให้รับผิดใช้ค่าทดแทน ในกรณีที่ฝ่ายผู้รับหมั้นเป็นฝ่ายผิดสัญญาหมั้น ให้คืนของหมั้นแก่ฝ่ายผู้หมั้นด้วย

English translation
Where a betrothal has been made and one party breaks the betrothal agreement, the other party is entitled to claim compensation. Where it is the betrothed party who is in breach, the khongman must also be returned to the betrothing party.
