ถ้าคู่หมั้นฝ่ายหนึ่งตายก่อนสมรส อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งจะเรียกร้องค่าทดแทนมิได้ ส่วนของหมั้นหรือสินสอดนั้น ไม่ว่าผู้หมั้นหรือผู้รับหมั้นตาย ผู้รับหมั้นหรือฝ่ายผู้รับหมั้นไม่ต้องคืนให้แก่ฝ่ายผู้หมั้น

If one of the betrothed parties dies before the marriage, the other cannot claim compensation. As to the khongman or the sinsod, whether it is the betrothing party or the betrothed party who dies, the betrothed party or that party's side need not return it to the betrothing party.
