The keeper is liable for the loss of or damage to a traveller's or guest's property in any manner, and remains liable even where the loss or damage was caused by people coming to or going from the hotel, inn or similar establishment.
Where the property consists of money, banknotes, bills, bonds, share certificates, debentures, warehouse warrants, jewellery or other valuables, that liability is limited to five thousand baht, unless the valuables were deposited with the keeper and their value expressly declared.
The keeper is not liable for loss or damage caused by force majeure, by the nature of the property, or by the fault of the traveller or guest himself, of his servants, or of persons he has received as visitors.
