การเป็นบุตรชอบด้วยกฎหมายตามมาตรา ๑๕๔๗ ให้มีผลนับแต่วันที่เด็กเกิด แต่ทั้งนี้จะอ้างเป็นเหตุเสื่อมสิทธิของบุคคลภายนอกผู้ทำการโดยสุจริตในระหว่างเวลาตั้งแต่เด็กเกิดจนถึงเวลาที่บิดามารดาได้สมรสกันหรือบิดาได้จดทะเบียนว่าเป็นบุตรหรือศาลพิพากษาถึงที่สุดว่าเป็นบุตรไม่ได้

La légitimation prévue à l'article 1547 prend effet : 1. À compter du jour du mariage en cas de remariage des parents ; 2. À compter du jour de l'enregistrement lorsque celui-ci est effectué par le père ; 3. À compter du jour du jugement définitif en cas de légitimation prononcée par le tribunal, étant entendu que cette légitimation peut être invoquée au préjudice des droits des tiers de bonne foi, à moins d'avoir été enregistrée conformément au jugement.
