การแจกเงินปันผลนั้น ต้องคิดตามส่วนจำนวนซึ่งผู้ถือหุ้นได้ส่งเงินแล้วในหุ้นหนึ่ง ๆ เว้นแต่จะได้ตกลงกันไว้เป็นอย่างอื่นในเรื่องหุ้นบุริมสิทธิ
