Whoever, having a duty imposed by law or by contract to take care of a person who cannot help himself or herself on account of age, sickness, physical or mental disability, abandons such person in a manner likely to endanger the life of such person, shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding three years or fined not exceeding sixty thousand Baht, or both.
