Intoxication caused by the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicants may not be raised as a defense under Section 65, unless such intoxication was caused without the knowledge or against the will of the offender, and the offender was intoxicated to the extent of being unable to appreciate the nature or illegality of the act or unable to control himself, in which case the offender shall be exempt from punishment.
But if the offender was still partially able to appreciate the nature or illegality of the act or still partially able to control himself, the Court may impose a punishment less than that provided by law for such offence to any extent.
