If the fraud is committed by placing or causing to be placed property insurance or life insurance by means of deceit to induce the insurer to underwrite the insurance or to underwrite it for a sum higher than would otherwise be the case, the offender shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding five years or fined not exceeding one hundred thousand Baht, or both.
