Whoever commits an act aimed at a result which is absolutely impossible to achieve, because of the means used or because of the object against which the act is directed, shall be deemed to have attempted to commit an offence, but the punishment shall not exceed one-half of that provided by law for such offence.
If the act described in the first paragraph results from a superstitious belief, the Court may not impose any punishment.
