ผู้ใดพาผู้อื่นไป หรือผู้ใดหน่วงเหนี่ยวกักขังผู้อื่น เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งค่าไถ่ ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกตั้งแต่สิบห้าปีถึงยี่สิบปี และปรับตั้งแต่สามแสนบาทถึงสี่แสนบาท
ถ้าการกระทำความผิดตามวรรคแรกเป็นเหตุให้ผู้ถูกพาไปหรือผู้ถูกหน่วงเหนี่ยวถูกกักขังรับอันตรายสาหัส หรือการกระทำความผิดตามวรรคแรกได้กระทำโดยทารุณหรือโดยกระทำต่อเด็กอายุไม่เกินสิบห้าปี ผู้กระทำต้องระวางโทษจำคุกตลอดชีวิต หรือจำคุกตั้งแต่สิบห้าปีถึงยี่สิบปี
ถ้าการกระทำความผิดตามวรรคแรกเป็นเหตุให้ผู้ถูกพาไปหรือผู้ถูกหน่วงเหนี่ยวถูกกักขังถึงแก่ความตาย ผู้กระทำต้องระวางโทษประหารชีวิต หรือจำคุกตลอดชีวิต

Whoever takes away another person, or whoever confines or detains another person, in order to obtain a ransom, shall be punished with imprisonment of fifteen to twenty years and fined of three hundred thousand to four hundred thousand Baht.
If the commission of the offence under paragraph one causes grievous bodily harm to the person taken away, confined or detained, or the offence is committed cruelly or against a child not over fifteen years of age, the offender shall be punished with imprisonment for life or imprisonment of fifteen to twenty years.
If the commission of the offence under paragraph one causes death to the person taken away, confined or detained, the offender shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life.
If the commission of the offence under paragraph one causes grievous bodily harm to the person taken away, confined or detained, or the offence is committed cruelly or against a child not over fifteen years of age, the offender shall be punished with imprisonment for life or imprisonment of fifteen to twenty years.
