Whoever has previously been sentenced by the Court to relegation, or has previously been imprisoned for not less than six months at least twice for any of the following offences: offences relating to public peace, offences causing public dangers, offences relating to currency, offences relating to sexuality, offences against life, offences against body, offences against liberty, or offences against property, and within ten years such person commits any of such offences again and the Court would sentence such person to imprisonment of not less than six months, the Court may deem such person to be a habitual offender and may sentence such person to relegation for a period of not less than three years and not more than ten years in lieu of imprisonment.
Offences committed before the offender reached the age of seventeen years shall not be taken into consideration.
